WHAT IS SELF HEALING?
Healers of all disciplines are of course invaluable, and in many cases we really couldn’t do without them. Surgeons for example set broken bones and stitch up wounds, but they are very aware it is the body that knits it all together again, leaving hardly a trace of the injury.
Your Healer’s success is influenced by your input for both physical and emotional healing. Doctors know that it is the innate wisdom of the body that is responsible for returning the body to its original healthy state.
Psychologists know that it is the intention of the mind which asks or directs the body, emotions and thought patterns to heal from their wounds.
Medical Doctors know this too. It’s called the Placebo Effect, which is the Mind-Body link consistently observed in research. What you expect is what you get. If the patient BELIEVES they are taking an effective drug, even though it is actually a fake inactive pill, healing is significantly improved. Your body and mind are listening to your thoughts and pictures and responds to them as if they are an instruction to be carried out. This has been found to work with psychological issues too. For example research volunteers with various phobias (fear of heights, social anxiety etc) took the relevant coloured pills they had been encouraged to firmly believe would cure it, and it did.
Many of the facts and tips shared in my blog are focussed on healing psychologically (thinking) and emotionally (feelings). You will also find techniques to focus specifically on healing physical issues. However, in my experience with clients, healing the mind often results in the healing of the body too, without even addressing it directly.
HOW TO HELP YOURSELF. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE?
Your personal input has a major influence on whether your Healer’s treatment, or your independent self-healing efforts, will work for you. If you are unaware of this, you may inadvertently sabotage your own success. Any doubts or any talk about low chances of success will fail to fully engage your brilliant mind and body in the healing process.
Doctors in an understandable desire to be open and honest may tell a patient that they only have a 20% chance of success. That makes it hard to maintain a positive future expectation! My preferred and equally true approach would be to say that x% have fully recovered and there is every chance that you are in that group, if you do what they did and follow the success techniques in this blog.
Before you begin on your healing journey, here are the essential 3 ways to prepare.
Set your intention and commitment to do your part to heal. Why set your intention? Because your mind wants to do whatever it thinks you want it to do. How does it know what you want? By the words you use and pictures you make in your mind. Be very clear and specific on what you are intending to happen, and the reason why you are doing your healing work.
Be open to receive the healing energies of your Healers and of yourself. Let it in. No doubts or quitting . Even a fragment of doubt dilutes your intention and pushes your goal further away from you. Know that you deserve to heal. If your heart has put up a protective wall because of rejection, choose to let down your guard and let in the love.
Believe that what you want is available to you. If you don’t believe already, that’s ok. Your mind doesn’t know – it will respond to whatever you say, true or false. So fake it until you make it for now. ‘Lie’ that you do already believe, and you will cheat the fear, and steal back your life. Repetition is the key. See, feel and imagine how life will be without the problem, until the new way of being feels familiar and believable to you.
